If you’ve never heard the name Kody Brown before, you’re doing all right. He’s the man with multiple wives who stars in the reality series “Sister Wives” on TLC. He’s the man who works in advertising and lives in Las Vegas with his family of four wives and 17 children. He and his first and only “real” wife divorced in 2014 and he then married the youngest of his other wives. The entire concept of this polygamist lifestyle is one many people find fascinating and an equal number of people find completely disturbing. Brown’s life has been made public thanks to his decision to take part in this reality series, and it’s not a lifestyle that everyone agrees with. So how does it work? Is he married to all four of his wives, or is he married to one and just with the others? The answer is, surprisingly, a lot simpler than you might imagine.
For 24 years, Brown was married to Meri, whom he recently divorced so he could marry Robyn. His other two wives, and Robyn before his divorce, were what he called “spiritual” wives. He has children with them, relationships with them and he schedules his time with his families around each of them. The divorce is not a sign of trouble in paradise, however. The polygamist has approximately 14 children and 3 stepchildren that belong to his newest wife. The reason for his divorce and remarriage is said to have something to do with his desire to become the father of Robyn’s children.
The families do not live together in the same home. However, they do help one another, take care of one another and spend time together. The wives are all perfectly aware of one another and fine with their ability to share their husband with other women. It appears that the four women are actually good friends and that they get along quite well. And that’s all you really need to know about this interesting family.
