The Ritz-Carlton Maldives Hotel Review

A wide choice awaits the visitor here, from the fun, buzzy Beach Shack where buckets of blue water prawns are washed down with rosé, to the gourmet highs of Iwau, where sake and the freshest sushi can be feasted on under a starry sky. There is also Italian cuisine at La Locanda for flavours of southern Italy – think a Sicilian fritto misto – and the lantern-lit, over-water Summer Pavilion for modern Cantonese cuisine. Try their dim sum brunch on Wednesdays. At Eau Bar the Hokkaido scallop ceviche is not to be missed, but stop here for a cocktail too to watch the sun descend in a blaze across the water.

Across the lagoon at Fari Marina Village, The Ritz-Carlton also have Arabesque, their take on a Bedouin tent, serving food from Lebanon to North India, and there is even a street food truck, Tum Tum, for take-away bao buns.

Breakfast has to be seen to be believed. Stretching across two or three rooms, a buffet with everything you could possibly want, and a lot you didn’t know you might want, is on offer from just baked pastries to every conceivable kind of milk to exotic fruits. À la carte is also available.
